Jennifer Schell is a BC based food and wine writer, columnist, editor of BC Food & Wine Trails Magazine and author of three international best selling cookbooks, The Butcher, The Baker, The Wine & Cheese Maker series (An Okanagan Cookbook, By The Sea, In the Okanagan). Born and raised on an apple orchard in the Okanagan, Jennifer is a passionate supporter of BC’s vibrant farming, food and wine industry and provides a creative lens inside this magical landscape and its people. She comes from a long line of farmers, and was raised to respect nature and the good earth. Her writing and books are a celebration of the people behind the food and drink; the Forklore, stories of the passionate members of a unique culture of craftspeople. Jennifer is an active member of the community and very involved in local charity organizations, including:

-Civic Award for Honour in the Arts in 2015 for her contribution to the community of Kelowna. 

-PR Chair- for Les Dames d’Escoffier’s BC Chapter, a prestigious, philanthropic international organization that fundraises for scholarships offered to women to enter into or further their career in the hospitality, food and wine world. www.lesdames.ca

-Founder/event co-ordinator of two Soup Sisters/Broth Brothers chapters in Kelowna, a national organization that forms groups of volunteers each month to make soup for the Kelowna Women’s Shelter and Overnight Youth Shelter. www.soupsisters.org

- Former committee member for the Kelowna Hospital Foundation Heart of Gold Fundraiser.

- Food & Wine Studies instructor at Okanagan College facilitating cooking classes involving the chefs, farmers and winemakers. She is also on the Program Advisory Committee for the Okanagan College’s culinary school.
